The Future Combat Systems (FCS) program was the largest and most ambitious planned acquisition program in the Army's history. The FCS was intended to field not just a system, but an entire brigade, a system of systems, with novel technologies integrated by means of an advanced wireless network.
Description
The early joint DARPA–Army Future Combat Systems program to replace the M1 Abrams main battle tank and Bradley Fighting Vehicles envisioned robotic platforms weighing under sixty tons each and controlled remotely by manned command and control vehicles.
Provided technical direction, requirements flow-down and assessment, partner interface definition and subcontractor oversight.
